Shabby (衣衫襤褸)

有讀者問「衣衫襤褸」的英文是甚麼？
我們知道「衣衫襤褸」是指人家的衣服破舊、破爛和樣子寒酸的意思。例如 A shabby old tramp是「衣衫襤褸的老流浪漢」, He looks shabby 是「他的樣子寒酸」。
其他例子：He wore a shabby old overcoat, dirty and full of holes是「他穿?一件破舊的大衣，又骯髒、又滿是破洞」，She wore shabby old jeans and a sweater是「她穿?一條破舊的牛仔褲和一件短袖汗衫」。

注意：在日常英語 Shabby 又指「破爛不堪的建築」。例如：Her home is a rented one bedroom flat in a shabby part of the town是「她家住在破舊城區中所租用的單間公寓?」，He lives in a shabby house with worn carpeting on the stairs是「他住在一所年久失修的房子，樓梯上鋪著破舊的地毯」。
