徘徊(Hover)

較早時，香港的氣溫很高。某天晚上仍然徘徊於攝氏33度。天文台日間錄得最高溫34.3度，沙田、青衣和九龍城是36度。Late last night the temperature was still h overing around 33 degrees Celsius after a daily maximum of 34.3 degrees at the Observatory and 36 in Sha Tin, Tsing Yi and Kowloon City。

財經方面，有金融策略師說，短期內恆生指數可能徘徊在16,800至18,300點。但如果數據比預期為佳，在最好的情況，指數會反彈至18,300。The index may hover between 16,000 and 18,300 in the short term, but it will bounce to 18,300 only in the best- case scenario if the data is better than expected。

Hover是「徘徊」的意思。它是動詞，其他例子：Temperatures hovered around freezing是「氣溫在冰點上下徘徊」，Inflation is hovering at 3% 是「通貨膨脹一直徘徊在3%左右」，She hovered outside her boss’s office door是「她在老板辦公室門口徘徊」。
