我們知道奶媽是代替母親以人奶餵哺嬰兒的女人。例如中國最近的食品醜聞引致人們對聘請奶媽的興趣大增。China's latest food scandal has created a surge of i nterest in wet nurses。

在江蘇省，一名父親記得在童年時，嬰兒的母親如果乳汁不足便會相互給嬰兒餵奶。他於是在互聯網刊登廣告尋找一名奶媽。He remembered that during his childhood, women would nurse each other's babies if one ran out of milk. So he put an ad on the internet soliciting a wet nurse。

Wet nurse 是「奶媽」的意思。其他例子：The demand for wet nurses is soaring是「對奶媽的需求正在上升」。
注意：Wet nurse與護士無關，Wet dream是「夢遺」，Wet blanket是「掃興的人」。Wet the bed是指小孩小便失禁弄濕了床，即「尿床」。
